Villa Turrisi

The project presented by the Municipality of Palermo for the redevelopment of the river mouth of the Oreto river and the recovery of the historic landing site of Tonnara Bordonaro and the construction of the first nucleus of Turrissi Park was admitted for funding of the Ministry of Infrastructure, with the resources of 20 million PNRR resources (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
“The is the demonstration – declares the councilor Maria Prestigiacomo – that the collaboration between the institutions and citizens always gives winning results. Recovery of the old landing of the Virgine Maria, prequalification of the mouth of the river Oreto and works to be carried out in Villa Turrisi Park, were strongly supported by citizens and Associations. With these 20 million from PNRR and the Technical and Administrative officials invited by Ministry to work on these projects in Municipality of Palermo, we’ll be able to do a tender in a very short time”.

“The news can only bring us joy and satisfaction – affirms the councilor Sergio Marino – Few people know the great work behind these projects, the result of a healthy collaboration between political forces even from different backgrounds, but above all of the positive energy of the numerous associations committed to defending and enhancing their territory. This strength was a reason for us not to ignore their love for the territory and the environment. Now we must work to make these dreams a reality in the shortest time. This will be our goal”.
