Joint Call To European Cities To Act On Improving Health And Well-being

The euPOLIS and its sister projects, IN-HABIT, VARCITIES, and GoGreenRoutes, are committed to achieving a series of visionary solutions to promote health and well-being in urban environments, by establishing sustainable and inclusive models for increasing the health and well-being of citizens exposed to different climatic and societal challenges.

The consortium represents over 20 European pilot cities.

Through a series of meetings that took place between June and December 2022, the sister projects consortium produced a Joint Manifesto as a call to action for cities in Europe and beyond that would help improve the health and well-being of the residents and visitors. The main areas of action that we identified were

a) inclusion of more nature and NBS integration in the urban planning methodologies of cities;

b) boosting of the role and presence of arts and culture in the urban context;

c) commitment to gender, inclusion and diversity principles to fight the gender gap and empower women and

d) digital innovation utilization to support urban connections and access to nature.

Stay tuned for more announcements on clustering events and activities from our consortium in this shared vision and joint effort in future actions to advance integrated solutions to improve well-being and health in cities!
